Novak Victorious in Grand National Season Opener
Zack Novak proved why he is the reigning eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series Champion by persevering through a race destroying pit miscue to score his first ASCORS Grand National Series win Wednesday night at Chicagoland Speedway in a Green-White-Checkered finish. Lockdown Racing teammates Briar LaPradd and fellow Richmond Raceway eSports teammate Jimmy Mullis finish second and third after a doorfest to the line.
Polesitter Marcus Lindsey, who would lead a race high 55 laps, would end up finishing fourth. Zack Nichols finished out the top five. Aaron Mulrooney, Jr., Jacob Fisher, Michael Fenlason, Elliott Henderson, and Timmy Pacchioli would round out the top 10. The race was slowed down four times for a total of 20 laps. Mullis would also snag the hard charger, starting in the 22nd position. Isaac Gann, who looked like to be a big threat for the win early on, would claim the fastest lap of the race with a 31.755.
Next week, the Grand National Series will head to Phoenix International Raceway.
