Mullis Robs The Nest, Tames "The Lady in Black"
Jimmy Mullis keeps Lockdown Racing as the only sim racing team to collect a victory in the ASCORS Grand National Series. Last week’s winner, Michael Fenlason and Derek Justis would lead the green flag, where Fenlason would lead the first three laps of the race. Justis would take the lead and run away for the next 37 laps before diving down to pit road for his first set of tires. The race’s only caution would fly shortly after Justis would pit, handing the lead to Briar LaPradd. LaPradd and Mullis would proceed to put a clinic on the field breaking out to a 10-second lead before settling the out who will win the race with barely any fuel left in the tank. Mullis would sneak by LaPradd with seven laps to go and win the race on fumes, running out just before the finish line. LaPradd would save the fuel to make it across the line under power in second. Justis would rally to finish third, Fenlason would finish fourth, and Shayne Therrien would round out the top five.
Aaron Mulrooney, Jr. still has a hold of a two-point lead over race winner Jimmy Mullis. Derek Justis sits third five point behind. Jacob Fisher and Elliott Henderson rounds out the top five in points. Next week, the Grand National Series circus heads to Daytona International Speedway under the lights… for starters.
