Joel Berkley denies Elby three-in-a-row at Kokomo


KOKOMO, IN - (January 9, 2020) Joel Berkley denies Adam Elby of his third win in a row with a dominating performance all night long. The Slick Simsport driver took advantage of the anti-slick racing surface and starting P1 to catfish like it was job all race long. Elby (Swindell Speedlab eSports) made a late race charge on the top but would come up short. Tyler Ducharme, teammate to Berkeley, would rally from falling to 20th on lap ten to finish third. Mode Motorsports driver, Justin Thomas, would finish fourth with Dylan Houser being the third driver from Slick Simsport to finish in the top five. Briar LaPradd would be the night’s hard charger passing 12 cars to finish sixth, losing the top five spot in the final corner.


Berkley would start his stellar night by qualifying on pole and being the only driver to crack the 12-second bracket with a 12.954. He would also go on to win Heat 1 sneaking by a brawl for the lead betweem Elby and David Comstock (JDR Motorsports). Justin Thomas (Mode Motorsports) would win Heat 2 and Teemu Toikka (SIMMSA) would claim top spot in Heat 3. The B-Main would be won by Cody Welker (Treeth Tunz Motorsports) but everyone would transfer into the Main Event.


The next ASCORS sanctioned event will the ASCORS Chili Bowl Nationals January 20-25. The next Thursday Night Thunder Midget Series will be January 30 at Lanier.
